Hi all,

Founded in 2001, WriteGirl is a nationally recognized creative writing and mentoring organization serving more than 500 teens annually, mainly from LA's high-density neighborhoods. WriteGirl envisions a world where all teens live, write, and speak boldly as they become inspiring, transformative leaders, driven to effect positive change in their communities and the world. WriteGirl alums go on to a wide variety of careers, including careers in the creative economy, such as WriteGirl alum, poet and activist Amanda Gorman.

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my fundraising campaign for WriteGirl. Your contribution ensures that WriteGirl will continue developing new tools to bring teens inspiring writing workshops and mentoring.

Since March 2020, WriteGirl has been holding monthly online workshops with an average of 200 teens, volunteers and alums participating! Often, a WriteGirl workshop is a girl’s first opportunity to read her work aloud and take the spotlight and her WriteGirl mentor offers vital one-on-one support. Your donation also helps make this all possible!
